Week of Prayer

Monday 4 January 2010

Part 1 - Prayed through the Lord’s prayer section by section. Taking each part and praying into that part for the fellowship.

Part 2 – Spent time listening to God and asking for His word.

Revelation of when we align ourselves with Him. A picture of magnets – one way they attract and one way repel each other. God works in the world but will not break His own laws but when we turn ourselves around we are aligning our wills with Him which enables His Kingdom to be extended. If more than one Christian aligns their will with Father they are then attracted to Him and to each other and His Kingdom is further extended.
Picture of a man walking - although He was looking like Jesus - because of this as he walked people noticed him and wanted to know more and so joined him – became Christians – looked like Jesus. The more of Jesus living in us the more attractive we become to those who are seeking even though they do not know what they are seeking.

It was felt that Jesus was saying that in the past within the church we have only given part of ourselves to Him but He wants all of us this time.

God’s Glory and Honour are on us - Sudden realisation of the enormity of this. This will affect the world as we reflect Him.

Tuesday 5 January 2010

Opened with Psalm 91 which was followed by a time or praise and worship.

Felt God wanted to give us intensity like white hot coals – not just fire but a much greater intensity in our hearts.

Picture of our front door – edging of light around the door visible to those who were outside. The light is the fellowship. Matthew 5:15 &16 The parable of the lamp.
Felt we should keep looking inside ourselves and keep short account as God has plans for us.

Psalm 24 – Confirming the above – only those with clean hands and a pure heart can stand in His Holy place.
Felt we are being invited into His presence and that He wants to purify us which is why we had the picture of the white coals and the clean hands and pure heart.
We need to repent and let go of the past.

A bizarre picture with three staircases which continue one to the other which you climb but always end up back where you started. When you zoom out there’s more – again and again etc but you always end up back where you started. Felt God say we see the staircases and go up but then end back at the start. Don’t limit Him by our own understanding He is bigger than that. Go again up the stairs and when you come down you are somewhere different. He said don’t try to understand. Go up the stairs and then stop and ask God where He is leading you/us.

Picture of a wonderful landscape – something like the Lake District – with fog laying over it but where shafts of sunlight break through in places. Felt God said we don’t have to see the whole picture. God knows where we are going. Trust Him.

A Picture of a ring of fire around the whole fellowship. This was for protection. God said only move when I move and the ring of fire will move with you and protect you. Look for my footsteps and follow them.

Eternal Guidance – don’t think where should I go? – wait for His guidance.

Wednesday, 6 January 2010

Started with a reading from Matt 6:33-34 followed by some worship music when we sought God’s face.

Sense that God was sprinkling one of us with star dust – it was so beautiful – and then it went from one of us to another until we were all sprinkled. Very, very beautiful.

Looking into the cloudy sky the sun breaks through at times – sometimes brighter then others. God said this is like looking through the glass darkly. We asked “Shouldn’t we see more?” but He said “No you see this way for a purpose”. Felt God was saying that if we look at the sun directly it is so bright and strong that it will damage us – our eyes and this is how we need to be able to look at God – we only need to be concerned with what He is revealing at this time. We could not cope with seeing all of God and what He is doing we would burn up – but just as the sun is always there even though the clouds sometimes hide it God is also always there working His will even when we don’t see Him.

Feeling of so much love for us. Trust me, walk with me, talk to me. Overriding sense of I will guide you. Trust me.

Picture of 2 young lovers on the beach who only had eyes for each other. They didn’t notice when the tide came in and the waves washed over them or when the jogger ran past or a friend trying to distract them to go for coffee – they only had eyes for each other. The woman – bride – did not worry about where she was going – she only had eyes for her husband and this is how we as the bride of Christ should be with Jesus.

Part 1 Praying for Old Fellowships

Romans 12 v 9-18

Each person prayed for, gave thanks for and blessed all those fellowships and people who had had an influence on their lives in leading them to this point.

Picture of climbing a mountain, you stop and look back and are amazed at how far you have come

Someone standing on a sticky spot, they can’t move, but try to, they start walking about , ungainly because the sticky on their shoes makes it difficult, but they keep trying, bigger steps until the sticky has gone and they find themselves dancing in a new freedom.

1 Cor:12 v12-13 , we are all parts of the body, we are not leaving them behind, but just a different part of the body.

Part 2. God wants to thank us for what we are doing this week.

Song – I can only imagine

Pictures of, the opening scene from the Lion King, Aladdin soaring on the carpet, superman soaring over the world, flying over the Serengeti seeing all the animals run, …. No matter how many pictures or impressions we have it doesn’t come close to the wonder that will be, standing in his presence

Freedom, in two ways, to know that you have it, and then the freedom to respond

Felt the Lord saying that if we get asked whose fellowship it is, don’t say Phil and Gill’s say its “Ours”

God wants to minister to us, played the Father’s Love Letter.

Friday 8 January 2010

Reading from Jeremiah 23:9 & 10 followed by a word given prior to the start of the fellowship.

Extended time of worship after and during which the following readings were given.

Psalm 71:1, 105:1-4, 106:1, 136:1-3.

Romans 11:33-35 Psalm 50:1-6

Picture of chariots around the fellowship – there are more with us than against us – 2 Kings 6:15-17.

Psalm 2:1-6
